It is important to note that I write in a “different voice” so to speak – that means the book is not about me and you will not meet me in there. The Khekairian Series contains coarse language, some descriptive nudity, sex and violence (no, not all in the first four chapters).

Mij is one of the main characters for Book 2,
The Imperial Son, The King’s Sacrifice, which I am currently still writing. I am two-thirds of the way through and expect it published around July this year.The first book, The Khekarian Threat, is available now. All books in the series will be both Kindle ($4.95) AND paperback ($19.95 plus postage).
I prefer paperbacks myself because I can read them anywhere, with or without the power on. LOL. Some people also just like to have the book as a physical thing, rather than Kindle. The paperback costs more because (of course) it uses materials and has to be produced and, naturally, the printers get their cut on top of costs. It is a nice fat book, though, so you get your money’s worth. 😀
It is an excellent idea to read the first four chapters before purchasing, each complete and available here on this blog. By all means, print them out for easier reading (I use Microsoft Word, too). That way you can take your time.
Printed this coming Thrusday is the next section, which is the opening of Chapter Five, and introduces Sevi a bit further. Sevi is another of my favourite characters. 😀 However, that will be all I will be producing for free of Book 1.

I don’t use Kindle, either. I prefer paperbacks, too. I publish my work both in paperback and as Kindle as a way of making it cheaper for people.
As for the chapters of my first book (The Khekarian Threat), I only have four up for reading here, made available just so people can get a taste for it and see if it is what they want to buy. Sevi (the bit I shall put up this coming Thursday) just happens to be the beginning of chapter 5, but I am not putting it up for that reason. I am putting it up to introduce some excitement – LOL – Sevi, swimming in the nude!
I lot of people search for science fiction with “sex” or “erotica” in their search criteria. Seeing as my book has both, I thought I should give them something. Nothing too strong, mind, that’s further along in the book!!!

I think you are right about people, Yuna. I feel characters are best when they can speak to something inside people. We all have our weaknesses and times when we are scared, but also times when we are strong and times when we are sure. That’s why I like Bad Guys to have good in them and Good Guys to have weakness in them – because none of us are all good and none of us are all bad!

I am very impressed with the lady who did not get a handle on it, didn’t like the psychic and other dimensions aspect, didn’t like the sex scenes, which made her uncomfortable – yet still was hugely generous and gave me three stars because, in her words, it was well written and well edited. Her review is as important to me as all those who love it. Some people hit out at things they don’t like, whereas she was very thoughtful and clearly striving to be fair. You can’t get better than that! 😀
I also liked (very much) the words of the lady who gave me five stars in Goodreads – her review also shows at Amazon, so that’s why I’m guessing it’s all linked.

Yes, it matters to authors. Each rating is a recommendation to some degree. It has to be honest, of course, and I do think most people who give reviews are saying what they really think. I am in awe of every one that comes my way. I’m flattered that each of those people took the time to sit and compose their words to tell others what they thought. They cared enough to do that. That’s an amazing thing to me – a gift – it helps me and it helps readers decide if it’s what they want. That’s important because I want people to enjoy my work, and they can only do that if they get what they think they are getting, or better! 😀

oh yeah, I’m forget to say that whatever rating that has been given to an author or will be given ahead. either it is 1 or 5, i think an author (if i were an author) should be feeling grateful because not all of reader bother even to give a rating. this blogging world though me so many things. like i said before I’m not good at writing since my school life. so to make a book review is hard for me, i got a low grade at reviewing a book when i was a high school-er 😦 .
Getting our book being review, whatever it is, is something to be thankful for.

I agree with you. I think if you go with your feelings, you won’t go wrong. No one needs to give a review for every book they read. There should never be pressure to say what you think (not like in school – LOL). For instance, you would not be asked to give a review of my book if you didn’t feel like doing so. In fact, I have many friends – and relatives – who have read my first book and like it a lot, but have not thought to give it a review. I respect that, too. A review should come from the heart, and that’s why I treasure the ones I do get. 😀

I liked your four chapters. I am glad I finally finished reading them. And feel bad about the ghost thing that it sounds like Aleisha will be forced to hunt at some point. And Sturn is an interesting character that is affecting all the other characters too. He has a lot of humanness to him that makes him a really interesting antagonist so far.
