The cops can’t help her.
Maybe Aleisha should have ‘seen’ that, but she’s not that kind of psychic.
She’s inexperienced, untrained and caught up in the power struggle of an exiled Khekarian Prince determined to return to a brutal empire.
It was supposed to be a dream come true, living and working on a newly colonized world, but there are no laws out here to protect her from an unexpected danger.
It’s all Stephens rules, Stephen’s choices, Stephen’s way. Only it isn’t Stephen’s team anymore. Not really. The two Khekarians in his crew have taken over and
no one is safe anymore.
The only way Stephen is going to get rid of them is to give them what they want. That includes an exotic alien-native specimen reputed to appear and disappear at will, a species that will strengthen the Khekarian war effort and bring about the overthrow of the Chiddran Empire.
It also means handing over Aleisha.
If the Khekarians have their way, Stephen’s going to make a fortune and
Aleisha will never see the Terran Sector again.

Nice job A.D. You sure write a full book.
Hi Dean, and welcome. Thank you!
I just wanted to tell you that I liked your book very much it was exciting. I like how you write.
Hi Penny and welcome in. Thank you very much for your comment, I greatly appreciate it. The second in the series,
The Imperial SonThe King’s Sacrifice, is due out in only a few months. 🙂Hi Alyson, just checking in to see how things are going. Hope you are staying busy and writing furiously. I got my book in the mail. Woohoo!
Hey! Hi, Beth. I wondered how you were doing. I’m glad you got the book okay. Yep, I am hard at it and hopeful to get Book Two out early. 🙂
i just read the chapter one, n i have to confess, i’m not into sci fi that much, but i love how you describe everything and u know what, sometimes i wonder how an author choose the words on their story, it amazed me (its a compliment for authors) ^_^
Hi Yunita! So good to see you in, and thank you so much for reading the first chapter of The Khekarian Threat. I appreciate your kind words very much. I find it very encouraging that there are quite a few people who don’t normally read science fiction who nevertheless like my work. Then again, as a kid I didn’t much like science fiction either because it seemed to lack character (which is why I got into writing it). I don’t know if you plan to read any further but if you do, I do hope you continue to enjoy it. 🙂
i don’t find any advantage of giving discouragement to someone. so it is so nice if my words turn into something encouraging ^_^. i’ll have my spare time to read your work and of course i enjoy reading \^_^/.
Thank you! And a Very Happy New Year to you!
🙂 🙂 🙂
Hi Everyone, I would just like to take this opportunity to suggest to anyone interested in reading “The Khekarian Threat” to please read the first four chapters before you buy. They are available here, listed separately to the right of this page under the the book cover). You will know then if this book is for you.
It is important to note that I write in a “different voice” so to speak – that means the book is not about me and you will not meet me in there. The Khekairian Series contains coarse language, some descriptive nudity, sex and violence (no, not all in the first four chapters).
Cheers! 🙂
Hi again Allyson,
after reading the introduction of Mij, i’m quite interested to start with chapter one. i copied it to microsoft word first, i’ll make time to read that. is your book only available for kindle?
Hi Yuna! 😀
Mij is one of the main characters for Book 2,
The Imperial Son, The King’s Sacrifice, which I am currently still writing. I am two-thirds of the way through and expect it published around July this year. The first book, The Khekarian Threat, is available now. All books in the series will be both Kindle ($4.95) AND paperback ($19.95 plus postage).
I prefer paperbacks myself because I can read them anywhere, with or without the power on. LOL. Some people also just like to have the book as a physical thing, rather than Kindle. The paperback costs more because (of course) it uses materials and has to be produced and, naturally, the printers get their cut on top of costs. It is a nice fat book, though, so you get your money’s worth. 😀
It is an excellent idea to read the first four chapters before purchasing, each complete and available here on this blog. By all means, print them out for easier reading (I use Microsoft Word, too). That way you can take your time.
Printed this coming Thrusday is the next section, which is the opening of Chapter Five, and introduces Sevi a bit further. Sevi is another of my favourite characters. 😀 However, that will be all I will be producing for free of Book 1.
I am glad you are interested and I hope you really enjoy this book, and of course, Mij in the next one.
Cheers! 😀 😀 😀
Hi Allyson,
This is one reason why i always wait and love our conversation. you always give a really nice and detail explanation. i hope i did the same way because honestly, sometimes i lost in translation. how to say it in English and did i use the right grammar. LOL.
okay, so i just patiently follow each chapter that you post because i don’t use kindle :).
So, Mij brought me here. thanks for your nice choose of trailer 🙂
Hi Yuna. I enjoy our conversations, too. I have no problem in understanding you. You are better than I am because you know more than one language! 😀
I don’t use Kindle, either. I prefer paperbacks, too. I publish my work both in paperback and as Kindle as a way of making it cheaper for people.
As for the chapters of my first book (The Khekarian Threat), I only have four up for reading here, made available just so people can get a taste for it and see if it is what they want to buy. Sevi (the bit I shall put up this coming Thursday) just happens to be the beginning of chapter 5, but I am not putting it up for that reason. I am putting it up to introduce some excitement – LOL – Sevi, swimming in the nude!
I lot of people search for science fiction with “sex” or “erotica” in their search criteria. Seeing as my book has both, I thought I should give them something. Nothing too strong, mind, that’s further along in the book!!!
Cheers to you, my friend! I am glad you like Mij from Book 2.
😀
ow, thank you 🙂
i thought i was confusing you.
i already search at gramedia online (the biggest publisher company in Indonesia), unfortunately i couldn’t find yours.
but i searched it at goodreads and i found it.
http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17338104-the-khekarian-threat
okay, so i know where to get it 🙂
Mij such a interesting character. my close friends tell me that i were someone who looked sturdy, strong, and independent from outside, but a little bit sensitive and vulnerable inside. kekekekeke.
Sometimes we like a character because she/he similar to us or someone whom we look up 🙂 or she/he just simply an interesting characters 🙂
i guess 🙂
\^0^/
Hi Yuna! 🙂
I didn’t know about goodreads. Glad you found it! The one my site links to is Amazon Books (when you click on the picture of the book, it take you to where both Kindle and papaerback can be bought). I do know it appears in other places, which somehow channels back through Amazon or Create Space (where it is printed).
Confusing, yes. 😀 As long as people can find it! LOL.
Oooh! I just had a look at Goodreads (I followed your link) and someone has given my book a wonderful review! Five stars and a lovely write-up! (Click on where it says 1 review). I’ve got a few of those at Amazon, too. Great stuff – people like my work. 😀 😀 😀
I think you are right about people, Yuna. I feel characters are best when they can speak to something inside people. We all have our weaknesses and times when we are scared, but also times when we are strong and times when we are sure. That’s why I like Bad Guys to have good in them and Good Guys to have weakness in them – because none of us are all good and none of us are all bad!
Thanks for the Goodread link, I might not have seen that wonderful review otherwise.
Cheers! 😀
i’ll check my goodreads 🙂
yess, i saw it, there’s someone who gave 5 rates. i like you to find it yourself 🙂
oh yeah Allyson, I’ve award this:
http://yunitagena.wordpress.com/2013/03/26/dragons-loyalty-award-daebak-im-a-nominee-0/
i know this is has no relation with your blog, but personally, i think you deserve one for me. you no need to put it on your blog. :).
Hi Yuna! How WONDERFUL. Congratulations – and hey, I see you now nominated me! Wow! That is tremendously kind. I don’t know how it works, but thank you, and congratulations again. 😀 Cheers!
Hey Yuna – I just checked my Amazon reviews, and the one on Goodreads is there, too. I love how it all interconnects.
I have five very nice reviews so far – one person did not like it, but still gave me a very generous 3 stars. The others did. I have one 4 star, and three 5 stars. Nice!
😀
Hi Allyson,
so there are few people who gave rating? i just saw 1 yesterday or i skipped it? mmm…
you got minimum 3 stars? that’s a nice rating because if someone thought it bad, they would give 1 star. i did once. heheheehee
Nice to hear..i hope there will be more review for your book :).
Hi Yuna! Yes, I have five reviews on Amazon. If you click on the book cover in the right margin of my blog, it will take you to Amamzon where you can see the reviews.
I am very impressed with the lady who did not get a handle on it, didn’t like the psychic and other dimensions aspect, didn’t like the sex scenes, which made her uncomfortable – yet still was hugely generous and gave me three stars because, in her words, it was well written and well edited. Her review is as important to me as all those who love it. Some people hit out at things they don’t like, whereas she was very thoughtful and clearly striving to be fair. You can’t get better than that! 😀
I also liked (very much) the words of the lady who gave me five stars in Goodreads – her review also shows at Amazon, so that’s why I’m guessing it’s all linked.
It’s all made my day! 😀
Cheers!
So, that’s lady has a very objective rating because even though its not her taste, she still gave a nice rating because of “it was well written and well edited”.
that’s nice 🙂
I think so too. That was very generous of her. 😀
And I LOVE the others for being so supportive. It’s nice when strangers like your work. I know I can never please everyone – no one can – but every comment of approval is a gift to me. It also helps others decide if they want to read the book or not.
So, when I see someone has given me five stars, I feel really wonderful about it. Even more so when they say they look forward to the next one. That’s like champagne to me. 😀 😀 😀
Ow, Allyson
hearing that ( author perspective) i would be more thoughtful when giving a rating and i will, but still based on my preference. LOL.
Five stars is really wonderful because when i first join this goodreads, i only gave five stars to Holy Bible. but i gave a thought again I’ve changed my mind. i give it to really special one :).
So from now, i’ll give more thoughtful rating,,, 🙂
Thanks to you my dear friend 🙂
Yuna – what wonderful thng to say! You are a kind and thoughtful person. 😀
Yes, it matters to authors. Each rating is a recommendation to some degree. It has to be honest, of course, and I do think most people who give reviews are saying what they really think. I am in awe of every one that comes my way. I’m flattered that each of those people took the time to sit and compose their words to tell others what they thought. They cared enough to do that. That’s an amazing thing to me – a gift – it helps me and it helps readers decide if it’s what they want. That’s important because I want people to enjoy my work, and they can only do that if they get what they think they are getting, or better! 😀
Cheers, my friend! A big hug your way. 😀
Hi Allyson,
Thank you While hugging back :).
oh yeah, I’m forget to say that whatever rating that has been given to an author or will be given ahead. either it is 1 or 5, i think an author (if i were an author) should be feeling grateful because not all of reader bother even to give a rating. this blogging world though me so many things. like i said before I’m not good at writing since my school life. so to make a book review is hard for me, i got a low grade at reviewing a book when i was a high school-er 😦 .
Getting our book being review, whatever it is, is something to be thankful for.
That’s my opinion. 🙂
Hi Yuna.
I agree with you. I think if you go with your feelings, you won’t go wrong. No one needs to give a review for every book they read. There should never be pressure to say what you think (not like in school – LOL). For instance, you would not be asked to give a review of my book if you didn’t feel like doing so. In fact, I have many friends – and relatives – who have read my first book and like it a lot, but have not thought to give it a review. I respect that, too. A review should come from the heart, and that’s why I treasure the ones I do get. 😀
Cheers! 😀
yess, exactly…
as for me, make a book review is really hard, so i think it even more more more harder for the writer. heheheheheh.
anyway,,,cheers 🙂
Cheers! 😀
Hello Allyson,
I’m more than impressed–in fact I’m awed–by your style of writing. I have to admit that I don’t usually read sci-fi stories, but the way you presented them (the first two chapters) were uncluttered and intriguing. I also LOVE that you included sex and erotica in the story as I’m one reader who enjoys a “well-rounded” book. Please I would like to read your book. I mean it.
Hi Uzoma and welcome!
Thank you so much for your most kind comments. Your words mean the world to me.
I understand wholeheartedly when you say you don’t normally read science fiction. Nor do I! In fact, that’s why I started writing it – because I loved the idea (space travel and new worlds) but could not find what I was looking for when I was a kid and becoming a writer. I wanted to put out into the world my own brand of science fiction, which happens to be well rounded, too. 🙂
Thank you, also, for wanting to read my book. That is the biggest compliment always. 😀
You have timed it very well because from Monday (May 13) until Friday (May 17), the Kindle version is going out free of charge. Once the freebie starts, I will be posting clear directions on how to get a copy. If you do not have Kindle, a paperback is available, unfortunately not on special. If you click on the cover of the book in the right hand margin, the link will take you to Amazon where you can choose paperback or Kindle, but wait until Monday (USA time where Amazon is) or Tuesday (Australian time where I am) to be sure the freebie is on. I will certainly post when it is running, to encourage as many as I can to get a copy.
Thank you so much for coming to my site. I am so pleased you like what you find here so far, and I hope that will continue to be the case.
Cheers to you! 🙂
Haha The pleasure is mine 🙂
I absolutely love space exploration and other stories relating to extraterrestrial beings and bodies. Unfortunately for me, I’ve come across only a few scintillating books that talk about them. Yours, I believe, won’t disappoint me.
So you offering your book free of charge from tomorrow? Wow! I can’t wait. I’m feeling SO SO SO luck!
I’m so glad! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Before you download, make sure the freebie is on, as the Monday start is in the USA time zone. There are 2 prices on Kindle – one is $0.00 for borrowing the book and one is $4.95 for buying the book. BOTH PRICES must be $0.00.
I will be checking to make sure it starts correctly, and then I will be sure to yell about it on my blog. 🙂
I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I’m like you, I wanted excitement and adventure in science fiction, and most of all I wanted stories I could climb into and live in for a while. Which is why I write like I do (and also why I like your work).
I’m certainly getting some very exciting reviews at Amazon, which I am very pleased with as the book has not been out for very long. Only 6 reviews so far, but 4 of those are for 5 stars – which is huge (the remaining 2 are one each for 4 stars and 3 stars). It’s wonderful to find people so enjoying my work, and I look forward to hearing what you think of it also, if you are willing to share your views with me, of course.
All the best to you. Cheers! 🙂
Hey, you’re the goto exrtpe. Thanks for hanging out here.
Hey, thanks, Tommy – I appreciate it. 😀
Whoops! No, it doesn’t have two prices on it (it used to!).
So, just be sure the price for Kindle is $0.00. 🙂
Good day! I simply wish to give a huge thumbs up
for the nice data you may have right here on this post.
I will probably be coming again to your blog for extra soon.
Hello, Yongsan. 🙂 Thank you so much! Cheers to you.
Captivating and intriguing. I’m looking forward to reading the entire book at leisure. In the quick read of your Chapter 1, I can tell that you’ve a writing style that I will enjoy. When someone can describe a character and I see them in my mind then I’m captured to read more. When the dialog is real and involved, then I’m captured to read more. And for me to add a new author to my library is important since time is precious even in my choice for readying. Thanks for stopping by my blog which has brought me to yours. 🙂
Wow – well I’m so glad I found you so you could find me. 😀 I’m thrilled that my writing style works for you, and thank you so much for saying so!
Pingback: Monday Update | winterbayne
I just stumbled on this! I very much enjoy your writing style and will definitely keep reading!
That’s wonderful to hear! Thank you! 😀
I liked your four chapters. I am glad I finally finished reading them. And feel bad about the ghost thing that it sounds like Aleisha will be forced to hunt at some point. And Sturn is an interesting character that is affecting all the other characters too. He has a lot of humanness to him that makes him a really interesting antagonist so far.
Thank you so much. I do like well-rounded characters, and a villain you can like and not like really adds some fun and tension. Sevi’s another one, although you get to know her more fully further along. Hey, and you’ve timed it well, the competition will be on this Friday (USA time). Good luck with it! 😀
Alright great!
😀
Your cover art for all 3 of these novels is fantastic! 🙂 I hope writing is a breeze my friend! Cheers and do keep those fingers warm with swift clicks to the keyboard!
Hi Candice – sorry to take so long to reply, I’ve been off-line for some days.
Thank you so much. They are professionally done and at a very reasonable price. In the right-hand margin, I link to the site with a picture of “Laura’s latest” as she does pre-made covers too.
I like the artwork you’ve got for yours. 🙂 I hope your writing is flowing well – I’m going great and have worked through the last of my plot challenges (problems). Everything is now sorted and into the right place, it’s just a matter of finishing and polishing it.
I am so glad to hear that things are on the swing up and on their way to the place called “Finished!” And no worries about the time, I know you have been really busy with things and that is a good thing. I am still not settled on my cover art though. I am sure when AG is polished up it will let me know how it would like to finally be dressed 😉
Yes, the work itself has influence and has to have its say. 😀
I am getting ready to post the first 3 edited chapters now! I am really excited about it. Thanks again for reading it and giving me input. I would like to email you a few chapters of a different story. If you have time, would you look over them and give me your thoughts?
Hi Candice – Oh that’s excellent news! Hang on, I’ll email you with my new address…
😀
I really appreciate you! Thank you so much 😀 The more points of view the better!
