If It’s Just A Cold, Why Does It Feel Like Bubonic Plague?

What a time to fall ill! A lot of things are happening, there’s an interstate move coming up (any minute), which means packing and sorting, and then there’s the third book in my science fiction series still to finish.

I’m not a tablet-taker, outside of coffee and alcohol (only occasionally now), I don’t take drugs at all until I catch a cold or a flu and my nose is running and I can’t sleep for choking on the stuff going down the back of my neck. So I hit the cold and flu tablets and the side-effects give me extra symptoms, mainly sleepy and queasy, although the lack of energy is more likely to be the bug itself and not the medicine.

*

It doesn’t help that this is the time I have to go into the city and get papers signed and processed, which is all part of the move and likely to be where I got the bug from in the first place.

Today I’m home and will spend much of it in bed. I’m writing this to let you know I haven’t jumped out of Blogsville in any serious sense, I just haven’t been here and my head isn’t functioning properly.

I hope you guys are going great and are keeping warm and are writing well.

I will catch up with everyone to the best of my ability when I can.

Cheers, all. 🙂

Hi Candice. That was something I kept telling myself, too. Thank you for your prayers, I’m feeling much better now (just in time to be fighting-fit for our move to come). I look forward to catching up with you and your writing. 😀

Glad you are feeling better! And I hope the move is a smooth transition. Moving does have its challenges 😉 I look forward to catching up with you too. I have been keeping an eye out on your blog and staying up to speed.

Thank you, Candice. I look forward to catching up with your blog, also – I want to know how that story is going. 😀 I haven’t caught up with anybody lately, there seems so much to do while off the computer (we’re moving to a smaller house, so there is a LOT of stuff to clear out and some of the losses will be painful, particularly books). I should be back into the swing of things in a few days. Thank you for being patient. Cheers to you. 😀

Oh the lose of books took my breath away! Downsizing is hard stuff, but we are better for it and come out on the other side of it much lighter. I have a friend who recently moved and she had 700 pounds of books to carry with her. I have a lot of books but I don’t think that many. lol. AG is coming along. I am taking notes for the real editing/revision session once it is all done. Your input helps a lot so I will definitely keep in mind what your comments are once you have down time to catch up on the reading. I just keep having to ask myself, “What are you rushing for? just take your time and write the book!” Part of my problem is juggling time. I have been working on that for a long while now., but I am not complaining at all. 😀

Hi Candice – my feeling is, if the urge is there to write and the words are coming, grab it all while you can. Rewriting is made much easier when you have all those pages to work from and with. 🙂 I’m loving your story so far and flattered to think my input helps. 😀
