I suppose all artists are the same – all creative people – it’s certainly true for writers, every moment of every day wraps around writing, plotting or characterization in one form or another.
Even at work. While you will immerse yourself in the task at hand, particularly dealing with people, you can’t help but bring some aspect of your project in with you. Not necessarily dealing with customers, but you know in your heart that every free moment – or at any mundane task – you’re off again, exploring the world in your head and making comparisons.
If this large storage area was the hull of a ship, that door would be would be made of metal, it might have a window in it and it might go ‘Shhhh!’ when it opens.
If this road was the main highway leading into Darbec [capital city of Zumaridi], those planes in the sky would be spaceship coming in from the Relay in orbit.
If this cafeteria was aboard a spaceship, this unidentifiable piece of food might be what something from a Chiddran world looks like (and probably tastes like chicken).
We all do it… Right?
…er… It’s not just me, is it?
Okay, I got the doors wrong. Is it Shhhh or Whoosh or some other variation?
(Yes, it’s another one of my nonsense posts.)
Have a great day, everyone.
