Did you disappear as spam???

Now that I’m with it (early this Tuesday in Australia), I feel I can start my week properly – yes, I am late, I often don’t count Mondays (not a bad thing, it shortens the week), but I actually had a good day yesterday and even managed to get some writing done – and today I am with it enough to take a look around, which (oddly enough) brings up the subject of spam -Yes, I peeked in my spam bin again and I can tell you, it’s not a pretty sight, so I thought I should put out another “Did you disappear?” post to notify anyone who has commented but failed to have it show up that such things happen automatically and it’s not me on a rampant rejection spree.

I don’t often look in the spam bin – not only is there a lot of junk in there, but there’s a lot of confusing things in there, too, including a few posts cleverly disguised (or maybe not) as legit posts.

So… if you have posted and it hasn’t shown, try again without links added. The spam-grab might also have been triggered by the handle you use (if it’s a product, say), so if you’re trying to be heard and it’s not working, try coming in from outside your own blog and see if that makes a difference.

Please be aware that I have not yet rejected or deleted anyone’s comment. Anything with a link is queued for moderation, but anything without should show up immediately.

Meanwhile, I’ll get back to work and hopefully get something more interesting organized to post for the rest of the week.

Have a great day/evening, all.

Cheers,  😀

Allyson

Im sure I have been absorbed by the spam bin, I comment on each and every blog but haven’t seen my remarks for ages. Thought I had offended and were being blocked….. the story of my sad inconsequential life…..

Artie! Never! I’ve been wondering where you were and thinking you’ve been busy (but hopefully still tapping your foot). I shall search for you now and make sure that doesn’t happen again! :O

Okay – I’ve just gone through my last lot of spam still listed, running from the 18th November through to today (3rd Dec), and you are not there, so I don’t know what’s happening with your comments, Artie. When you say you comment on each and every blog, do you mean every day? I’m up to posting seven times a week now.

You got through this time though, thank goodness. Your comments should always appear at once and only go into moderation if there is a link in them. If they don’t, either try again or contact me via email and I can go and hunt for it. WordPress has been making changes, so I can only think that something has in the past bounced them – this morning, for instance, I could not link to pages, add a picture or any tags, my dashboard kept bouncing me back to my list of posts. It effected enough of us and a few got onto the WordPress forum, seeking help, which alerted the engineers and they fixed it very quickly.

I’m wondering if it was another such flaw I didn’t know about. I would not block you in a million years. I have not blocked anyone. Ever.

Cheers, mate, I’m sorry you’ve been inconvenienced.

Argh! I could teach the world a few Aussie swearwords, now! All right, I won’t, and that means you can ignore the email I sent you, too, in my quest to sort out what went “technically wrong”.

Glad things are okay. Yeah, yeah – you got me. 😛

Hey, Beth – haven’t heard from you for yonks, either (you do know “yonks”, right? Means “ages” for all who don’t know). 🙂

I’m so glad you are enjoying The King’s Sacrifice. That means a lot to me. Big hug to you! 😀
