Aleisha had no idea what she was walking into. She had been accepted into a team and had finally arrived on one of the wilderness planets at the distant edge of Terran space colonization. It hadn’t occurred to her that there might be danger waiting.
It crashed in on her unexpectedly before she ever met the team. Proximity allowed a psychic connection just as the murder took place. After that, it was just all too late.
Why is it that people think if a psychic doesn’t see everything, that they can’t see anything?! Aleisha is not believed and, in the team itself, her talents are dismissed by everyone except the very person she needs to escape, the very one who brought her here precisely so he could use her – Sturn, a killer, a Khekarian, an exiled prince and a bastard in more ways than one.

The Khekarian Threat is the first book in the Khekarian series. It’s sci-fi, it’s adventure, it’s thrilling. Most of all, it’s a passionate story with characters who are alive and likeable and human. Even the aliens.
Cheers!

“Why is it that people think if a psychic doesn’t see everything, that they can’t see anything?!” Great observation. I feel for her.
Thank you! I made this character very down-to-earth and her skills in the natural but uncontrollable bracket – no training – The sort of things she experiences is not fun, either! Cheers! 🙂
sounds like it.

Shades of Kassandra (daughter of King Priam of Troy) who bargains with the god Apollo for her virginity & accepted the gift of unerring foresight as payment. She gets her gift, but as a parting “sting” Apollo adds a caveat – whatever she predicts, nobody will ever believe her (or she fights him off, but with the same result – depending on which version you read). She was taken as a slave by Agamemnon when Troy fell & was murdered with him by Clytemnestra.
Life, eh?
Life, indeed.
Hmm, and Khekarian royalty are looked up to as gods, and they have slaves. Oh dear. There are even some virgins… No bargaining, though. 😀
