Writer’s block. Drives me nuts. But wait, is that the same as writer’s hesitation?
Okay, okay, so there isn’t a condition known specifically as “writer’s hesitation” but I was just wondering, you know?
In the olden days, people used to sharpen pencils as a way of starting up their inner creative engine for the day. Me? I used to drink coffee. A lot of coffee – “One more cup, I’ll be ready to go” kind of coffee. That got to be bad news when I hit 30 cups a day and found my head going for a space-walk and my hands shaking so badly I couldn’t type coherently. Oh dear.
Nowadays I get on the Internet and find out what’s happening in the world. But if I don’t watch out, it gets interesting and half the day has gone before I’ve had a chance to get going. Not good. Not good at all.
Then, of course, there’s games to play and emails to send, and oh, all sorts of ways to distract yourself via the Internet.
Hmmm…
